Twintrview with Thomas Edwards: The Professional Wingman

Thomas Edwards is a man that goes by many names; Boston’s Hitch, The Professional Wingman, The Love Doctor…. But I wanted to know more about him than what he answers to. Luckily for me, Thomas was able to take an hour and talk about some of the things that he has been doing the last few months, and let us in on some stuff that he is getting ready to launch.

1. Alright! So Thomas, if you don’t mind telling those following a little bit about what you do, I’m sure you an describe it better.

Well, I am a dating strategist that helps men & women through personal development enhance their dating & social lives.

2. You’re Twitter profile description says something about ‘E & O’, what is that?

E & O stands for “energy” & “optimism,” two very important keys to leading a successful lifestyle. It’s hard to succeed without either.

3. What are some ways that you are able to help people become more satisfied with their lifestyle and relationships?

How I help is people is by pushing them over the limit, get them to do things they’d never see themselves being able to do and realizing that they have total control of making their lives whatever they’d like it to be. It could be dating their future partner or having more friends in their life. It could even be just rediscovering new life passions.

Whatever it is, I help people get there.

4. Are you confident enough in your style that you think you can help anyone in these circumstances? Ever have to turn anyone down?

Absolutely. All you need is a willingness to grow & be pushed past your comfort zone. In order to change your current results you need to change your habits. Doing that is hard, but if you’re willing, you’ll push yourself through that.

There are very few people I’ve had to reject because they werent willing to push themselves. It’s unfortunate but sometimes no matter how hard you try they have to be the ultimate person to make the change. I can only help them find the way.

5.  You have a lot of things going on right now to help people out – what’s been happening with LoveNation.tv?

LoveNation has been awesome. I co-host withonline dating coach @eFlirtExpert & we dissect trends that we see related to dating. I like to call it giving 1% of the world a place to go for niche dating content. We’re looking for feedback as we create more content. More episodes are coming so always keep your eyes peeled.

6. So with LoveNation you hit specific topics? Like what? You know there’s a market in Mobile Device devs, right? Lol

We actually have an episode specifically on Mobile Dating http://bit.ly/aFi1SJ (expand) But we also have topics such as “cougars, “sexting”, office romances, shy millionaires, social geeks and even video game grown-ups! It’s fun, informative & entertaining.

7. What is Wingman University all about?

Wingman University is the event that I believe can provide a quick turnaround of success in a short period of time. Like languages it requires total immersion to really understand. This is the same but in the sense of understanding dating & lifestyle strategy. I work with 10 guys over 72 hours to find out what has been preventing them from having success & help them make changes in real-time.

8. So is this event in-person, online or on the phone? How do guys signup? And is it only for guys?

This event is all in-person & right now, only for guys. I’ll provide hotel accommodations for each “student” if they’re traveling. It’s starts Friday evening & ends Sunday evening. You can read all the details & signup at http://www.wingmanuniversity.com.

The first University course will start the weekend of June 25. Dates are scheduled for the rest of 2010. Spaces are actually limited.

9. I saw recently that you were ready to hire a wingman to work with you – is this a sign for how busy you’ve been getting and expansion?

Things have been crazy busy for me. In the past year, I’ve worked with over 100 clients. As I continue to get more clients It only makes sense to expand. So, I hired a wingman. He’ll be helping me mostly with Wingman University & content development.

I really like his personality & his ability to get the job done, when it comes to anything Exciting times are ahead for the biz.

10. A follower asked this: What do you do when people want a quick fix or an easy button to change their life?

Life is all about momentum. People who are looking for the quick fix aren’t seeing the bigger picture. We live in a world of instant gratification but if you’re looking to enjoy life, you have seek long-term gratification. Turnarounds are not instant but if you keep working at it, you can develop momentum to keep things going strong for a very long time, as long as you stay focused.

11. Last question: If there’s one big thing you’d like to accomplish this year, what should we expect?

If there is anything I’d like to accomplish this year it’s reaching out to more singles across the country. With Wingman University I’m hoping this will give me the chance to reach more people as it expands to different cities across the country.

12. Any last words?

It’s your responsibility to control the outcome. Never give up. Never back down. If you have the will, you will succeed. Period.
